Practicing Smiles for Picture Day

Getting ready for picture day can be fun for both the parent and the child.  This may include “practicing smiles”.  As a parent you want good pictures of your child.  Your child wants to make you happy.  This may result in your child staring into the lens with a big cheesy grin on their face.  That may be what you want and expect.

We can do better. The pictures accompanying this post are typical of my work.  The children are not trying to smile and they are not trying to look at the camera.  How do I do it?  If your experience with photographers includes looking at the camera and trying to smile it might be hard to understand.  My YouTube channel might help.   https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuTaSun1drjo5JBsh989TYg

Look at the images on my other posts on this blog.  It works.

Practicing smiles can be a fun part of getting ready for picture day.  Just be certain the takeaway is not staring into the lens with a big cheesy grin, unless you like that better than what I normally do.
